From a single classroom to 96+ countries

From a single English speaking school in 1971 to a globally trusted language institution — BSL’s story is one of continuous evolution and international reach.

1971
BSL opens as a specialist English school. The founding curriculum — English Speaking across all four skills, plus the 12-week Personality Development programme — is established and has been refreshed every year since.
1985
Foreign language expansion: 12 languages added progressively under the CEFR A1–C2 framework. French, German, and Spanish were added first; Arabic, Mandarin, Japanese and others followed.
2003
BSL Corporate Training launched for MNCs, BPOs, schools, and corporates. BSL quickly became the go-to organisational language training partner across multiple sectors.
2005
Dedicated IELTS, PTE, and OET coaching added. BSL's Study Abroad division — offering Canada PR and Australian immigration consulting — opens for business.
2009
ESL, TESOL, and TEFL certifications introduced. BSL launches QR-based digital certificate verification — a first for the language education sector.
2011

2016–17
